KLEIN BOTTLE
The Klein Bottle is a non-orientable mathematical surface. This 2D representation of a 4D phenomenon is similar to a Mobius Strip, in that one could travel across the entire surface and end up at the same point on the other side. While not explicitly architectural, this exercise offered me an opportunity to really explore the details of 3D modeling and rendering with a shape that excited me.
PARTITION WALL
Photographs of an interconnected brick partition model. Individual bricks were 3D printed and strung together through the typical extrusion holes found in standard bricks. This partition wall can be rearranged into many interesting shapes, offering complexity to rectilinear spaces. It is able to be stored in a compact form. In reality, these "bricks" would most likely be made out of a lightweight but durable foam in order to maintain flexibility.
ARCHITECTURAL MEADOW
This concept conveys the illusion of movement within a static design. It could be a temporary installation in a public plaza, or the concept for a room or courtyard in a building. The module, [a pole with a fin on top, one side blue, the other yellow] manipulated at various angles, creates an undulating, colorful, prefabricated forest similar to a windswept canopy of trees in which you walk through.
PERSONAL CHAPEL
Picture the organic shape of this small reflection space in the middle of the woods. It is a place of rest and reflection. Its open form allows the user to have as much interaction with his/her surroundings as they want, whether they sit on the exterior bench or huddle within the rough interior with a view of the canopy above.
